Context

Within the Renault Group, the 3DCOM initiative aims to deliver highly realistic digital representations of products, ensuring a virtual experience that is as close as possible to reality. As the lead 3D modeler for the seats of selected vehicle models, I was involved from the early development stages through to the final delivery of the 3D assets.

Key challenges:

• Achieving visual realism and accurate volume representation based on physical mock-ups.

• Creating optimized topology that supports stitching logic and UV mapping workflows.

• Maintaining an iterative process with a clear construction history to allow flexible updates.

• Producing assets in subdivision modeling format to ensure software interoperability across platforms.
